Nice. This year I made a mixture of dishwashing liquid, water and methylated spirits (cheaper than rubbing alcohol) and cleared up whatever problem I had on my zucchini... looked like rust but may have been tiny spider mites.
I’m not very precise ... put it this way, after I slosh a little in, mix it with dishwashing liquid and water, it still has that distinctive smell , maybe 10 % ? Maybe more :)
Thanks! I'm not too precise either, and that's one of the things I like most about the homemade treatments. With the professional stuff you must be precise or you risk killing the plants and possibly yourself. :D
Thank you, Irina! Any pointers about effective bug sprays are most welcome.
You're very welcome! Bugs really are a headache and the more fast-use options we have, the better.
Great idea with the benefit of potassium and manganese fertilization. Manganese is a very important micronutrient that can be deficient in many soils.
I wonder if your pink poison would work on wood borers in my firewood stack?
There's no reason why it wouldn't. Didn't think about that but if you try it, let me know how it went!

Oh, I'm putting this down as my next option. Thank you! How much alcohol do you put in the mixture?
