What I have noticed is that after it rains, my vegetables and seedlings just seem to grow faster. Whereas when I water from the hose, it does not have the same result. So perhaps the rain has something extra, maybe oxygen ?

No idea. We water our plants with rainwater but it is different, you're right. Could be something extra, could be the effect of water droplets distributed more evenly and over a longer period of time, than watering from a hose.
